I help authors bring their ideas to life.
Hi! I'm Danielle Goodman, founder of TheGoodGood, a boutique editorial consultancy in San Francisco working with thought leaders to turn their big, bold ideas into books that sell.
I work with subject matter experts to find the right words to convey their big ideas. I organize thoughts into complete and compelling narratives. I work with diction to strike the exact right tone. I refine messages by asking the hard questions and suggesting possible answers. I have a gentle but firm hand with authors that wins their trust; they know that I am helping them to showcase the best version of their big ideas. Services I provide coaching and editorial support at all stages of the book-writing journey:

Experience
As a developmental editor, I work with thought leaders in the fields of leadership, management, diversity, inclusion, and equity, creativity, entrepreneurship, social justice and social responsibility, sustainability, personal development, expanding consciousness, and health and wellness.
Born and raised in Trinidad, I lived in Miami and LA before moving to San Francisco in 2012. My background makes me particularly interested in books that center the experiences of immigrants, people of color, and women, and that help individuals to create the space for all their identities to thrive. My authors have been published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers, St. Martin's Press, Jossey-Bass (Wiley), Sounds True, Dutton (Penguin Random House), Hatherleigh Press, W. Brand Publishing, and Pepperdine University. As a managing editor, I've designed editorial processes and set up publishing schedules. I have recruited, trained and managed teams of editors, writers, and production designers. I've worked on site and off, collaborating across business functions and time zones to develop and market new editorial products, implement changes to content and style guidelines, and measure the success of past endeavors. Previously, I was the Managing Editor of Pepperdine Business School's applied business research journal and of the US and China industry research departments of IBISWorld, a market research firm. |
